Shopping With Pearlescence

Before you order, please take a few moments to read these notes

We are proud of our pearls and our jewellery and have confidence in them. That is why we guarantee all our pearls and made jewellery for a year against failures of workmanship. This is much longer than nearly every other jeweller, even the other online pearl suppliers

All Pearlescence pearls are real pearls. They are all cultured– which is a jewellery trade word for farmed. They come from pearl farms around the world.

We try to make all our descriptions accurate. Individual items are photographed, or a sample from a hank of loose pearls. We do not use generic photographs and all photographs are done by us. All photos and words are copyright Pearlescence unless otherwise stated.

Pearls which are described as round will appear round when rolled on a flat surface on their string. Semi round are slightly egg to oval when examined but will look round in wear.

A 'good' lustre means that the lustre is reasonable, with no chalky patches; 'very good' means most of the pearls have a good shine; 'metallic' means that most of the pearls have an exceptionally good lustre with a mirror reflective lustre.

Please do understand that with the pearls we supply quality is reflected in the price. Do not expect metallic perfect 12mm round pearls for £5 a strand.

Goods remain the property of Pearlescence until properly and fully paid for.

If your order goes astray in transit we will replace it, provided that you have provided a correct shipping address. We won't replace lost orders where the address supplied is incorrect or partial. Please double check your address. You know where you live. We don't.

And finally, the formal formalities

Shipping

Orders over £50 are shipped by secure next day courier, and you can opt for this also if you wish your order to be insured or for its arrival to be guaranteed next day. Please aim to be available to receive your order the day after making it usually (or tell us a suitable date during the checkout process)

Orders under £50 are shipped Royal Mail second class.

For orders under £5 we make a small surcharge of £1.

The website does not automatically add courier shipping to small orders

International orders are usually shipped EMS, with high value items insured, or we use a courier We usually ship orders at around 2pm each day

Terms

You can cancel your contract to buy any item selected from this website within 14 days of receipt. I will return your money once you have returned the goods in the condition in which they were supplied to you.

Goods should be posted back to me by the same method of posting as they were sent and you should contact me before posting so that I know to expect them.

Commissioned items cannot be returned unless faulty.

For health reasons we cannot accept the return of pierced earrings. This has been sanctioned by our local Trading Standards Department as a reasonable exclusion from the CCRs

After 14 days goods will only be accepted for return if faulty. (items are guaranteed for a year)

In case of dispute English Law applies to all contracts

All items will bear a London Assay Office hallmark as necessary.

Privacy

We do not store, process, or distribute any information about our customers or visitors except where it is necessary for normal business to be undertaken, e.g. order processing.

We certainly won't sell your details anywhere. Ever

The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 says we have to offer you a returns form, so here it is (but you can just send an email if you want, to Wendy@Pearlescence.co.uk)
