For a simple single strand pearl necklace the cost would be the cost of your chosen pearls, the cost of your chosen clasp and the charge for making up one strand - £25, for example. Nothing more, not even postage and packing on that.

A few examples of commissions which we have undertaken in the past are
 Lace effect bridal white pearls necklace
This necklace was made by me as an attempt to evoke a lacy effect in a pearl necklace. I used all sorts of shapes of white pearl, and used a special double stringing method to construct this necklace. The clasp is sterling silver. It is unique, and cost the happy bride £150.
 Black Freshwater pearls necklace
This necklace is made of grade AAAA Black Freshwater pearls sized
between 11mm and 13mm. It was sourced directly for our client by our
agent in Beijing, who made two trips to the Beijing Pearl Market to seek,
photograph and check the quality of the strand of pearls before buying them
and sending them. Once the photographs had been approved by the client
the pearls were purchased from the market, sent here and made up with
the clients choice of matched large black pearl stud earrings (bought at the
same time from the Market).
Black pearls are much more rare than white pearls and it is much harder to
find such good quality large black pearls.
